TTM Success: Jeff Francis

In 2014, Jeff Francis was 1-0 for the Yankees in two games, pitching a grand total of 1 and 2/3 innings. Yet, he snuck into a game in the 14th inning, pitched a scoreless inning, and came away with a 'W' after Chase Headley's walk-off hit in his Yankees debut. Pretty cool!

Francis pitched for the Yanks again a few days later, and then was released. He's currently in camp with the Blue Jays, but certainly did his best work early in his career in Colorado. His best season was in 2007, when he went 17-9 with a top-10 Cy Young finish.

  1. Congrats. I wish I had remembered to send a return to Francis (or did I?).

  2. Is that a custom or did Topps really make a card of a washed up veteran with less than 20 innings of work?

    Nice return, regardless

  3. I thought he might be a star early in his career with Colorado. I didn't realize Jeff Francis was still pitching in the majors last year.
