I haven’t posted a Tino Tuesday since September, so you get
treated to two cards today – both from the same set.
These are from 1996 Ultra, and are Gold Medallion editions.
Essentially, Topps Gold, but for Ultra. They usually fell one per pack, and the
design was always quite different, ranging from a small medallion, to a die
cut, to this full-card look. This one happens to be my absolute favorite.
The Gold was striking and really makes the card feel
special. In fact, I was collecting basketball cards at the time, and pulled a
Michael Jordan that looks just like this. It still resides in a screw case.
