I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.

How bad does this look?
This image got released today. It's Masahiro Tanaka's Series 2 RC. It looks hilarious, honestly. The interlocking NY looks like it was just stamped on. It looks nothing like a part of the actual jersey.
There is a patch on Tanaka's left sleeve that is from Mariano Rivera Day at the Stadium last year.
His hat looks dorky.
This is just silly.
It's a joke that series 2 is mostly photoshopped.
ReplyDeleteI looks like they pasted his head onto someone else's body, but then again, the photoshopped jersey just looks... cartoonish
ReplyDeleteWrong Ryan...

you'll have to cut and paste, but here's the picture they used!!
DeleteWow, I'm shocked they didn't crop his head on someone. So then what? Find a Yank with a similar pose, and build the jersey piece by piece?
ReplyDeleteThat picture kind of reminds me the semi-poorly photoshopped cards in the 70's. Not sure if that's a good thing though.
ReplyDeleteMan alive that is bad
ReplyDeleteLOL... Awesome.
ReplyDeleteAh, probably a purposeful harkening back to the days of awful airbrushing in the 60's and 70's.....right? No?
