I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.

TTM Success: Jeff Hendrix
Yankees prospect Jeff Hendrix signed and returned my card from Yankees minor league spring training. Hendrix was taken by the Yankees in 4th round of last year's draft out of Oregon State. He started his pro career in Staten Island, where he hit .229 but swiped an impressive 17 bases while only getting caught once. He must've been distracted watching Zippy Zappy devour some nachos. That's the only explanation I can think of for actually getting caught stealing when you've got the base stealing prowess that Jeff has.
Hendrix's season starts today for the Charleston Riverdogs, NY's low-A team in the South Atlantic League. He'll be part of an exciting outfield that include Trey Amburgey and Jhalen Jackson.
Coming out of a solid college program, I'm not surprised to see him starting the year in full-season ball. I'm excited to see his progress this year.
Thanks for the auto, Mr. Hendrix!
Out of all of the outfielders in Charleston (at least right now) Hendrix is the best defensively. Cool return.
