Arpsmith gave me the blues

Blue cardboard, that is. I hashed out a little trade with ARPSmith for one of his 2013 Topps Silver Slate Yanks. He sent me ARod, who appropriately has the Yankees blue-balled with his massive contract and health issues.
Anyhow, the cards are fantastic looking. Really sharp. The blue is vibrant and attractive. It's really a nice card. Well done, Topps.

ARPSmith also sent me two 2013 Bowman Blue Parallels, each #'d to 500, of Yankees prospects Mikeson Oliberto and Pedro Guerra.

Thanks for the trade!

Trade with arpsmith

Adam aka arpsmith and I made a small trade recently. I saw two 2012 Bowman cards I wanted that he posted about - a purple parallel of Tyler Austin, and an International Dante Bichette Jr. These are two guys I'm currently collecting, and I needed each parallel.

I love the Bichette. The American flag background looks great on this card. I'm not sure if it looks this good for all the countries, but the red and blue really jump out against the white border. As for the Austin, I'm not a huge fan of the purple. However, it's a card I needed, and I am a fan of that.

Adam also through in a nice medley of Yanks for Series 2. I love the Cano A Cut Above.

Thanks, Adam!

Tino Tuesday #37: 1998 Collector's Choice You Crash The Game - Win!

This Tino comes from Adam aka arpsmith of Arpsmith’sSportscard Obsession. He recently reached out say that he found this at his LCS and it was mine if I wanted it. It was a really nice gesture and I’m always thankful when someone thinks of me.

The card itself is from 1998 Collector’s Choice as part of the You Crash the Game insert set. As a kid collecting at this time, I LOVED this insert set. And not just for baseball. I loved it for basketball and football too. Essentially, if the player hit a HR (or scored a TD or had a certain number of points), you’d be able to send that card in for a prize. Some years it was for a limed edition set. Other years, you’d get a special card of the winning player.

Since this is a winning card, it looks like Tino came through and hit a homer on the date listed and this card was redeemed. Since it was always a favorite promotion of mine, I really appreciate having a Tino from this set.

Adam, thanks again!
