I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.

Contest: Big East Tournament style
I figured that March Madness is a great time for MY FIRST CONTEST! While the big NCAA Tourney is my favorite event, the Big East Tournament the week before is far and away my favorite event to attend in-person. As a Syracuse alum, I have gone every year for the past 10 years or so. It's a great time, especially with fans of so many other crappy schools around. I kid, I kid...unless you like Georgetown.
The Rules:
In the comments below, tell me which Big East Team will win this year's Conference Tournament. Even if you don't know much about it or college hoops, just name a team who you think could do well (i.e. Pitt, 'Nova, UCONN, etc). The Big East Tournament runs from March 8-March 12 at Madison Square Garden. You must enter by 11:59PM PT on Monday, March 7.
You get one entry for naming the Big East team you think will win in the post. ONLY NAME ONE TEAM.
You get another entry for following the blog (tell me in the post)
You get another entry for promoting the contest on your blog (leave a link with your comment)
The prizes*:
1. The participants who CORRECTLY chose the winning school will be entered into a drawing to win a jersey or relic card from a past player who attended that school (my choice...I have to buy it after all).
2. All participants will be entered in a random drawing for a relic or jersey card of a former Big East Tournament MVP (my choice again). Past MVP's include Ewing, Mourning, Caron Butler and Johnny Flynn just to name a few.
Winners will appropriately be drawn on Sunday, March 13 - SELECTION SUNDAY!
*Even if you aren't a basketball card collector, everyone enjoys a relic. Maybe it'll serve as trade bait for you.

I think St. John's pulls it off this year. They have been tough in MSG.

Seeing as how this year's Big East is the most overrated conference in the history of College Basketball, this is a tough one. I'll take Pitt.
