Holy moly. This summer is going fast.
For being stuck at home, the summer is sure finding a way to move quickly, as most summers do. I expected this one to drag, but here were are, mid-August.
Since it's really been the summer of PWEs, I thought I'd show off a few that have tricked in over the last few weeks.
Coach Tom sent a good one with a few different fun cards. The highlight for me was this Aaron Judge Syracuse Orange parallel from Big League.
A few other Big Leaguers. I love getting Gerrit Cole Yankee cards!
A couple Tinos! The diecut Retrospectives is a sweet design. I love the colors, too.
And as he tends to do, Tom sent me a few HOFers for my sons binder!
Thanks, Coach!
Kerry from Cards on Cards hit me up with a good PWE as well. I always like his, as they tend to be a mixture of Yankees and Knicks.
I wish the Knicks were in the Bubble since Kevin Knox cards would be worth like $50 a pop if he had a good game.
I like this CC from Big League, as well. Why didn't Topps give him a tribute card in flagship? That seems like an odd omission when a future HOFer hangs 'em up, right?
And finally a quick swap from Bru! I like the Defensive Wizards insert set as well. Players in outer space always goes over well with me.
I hope a lot of stuff from Covid time goes away, but I hope the PWE momentum continues to stay.

I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.

Growing my Tino collection on the TCDB
While most of my TCDB trades have been for current Yankees, a few over the last few weeks have brought be a few new Tinos. There aren't a ton I need for trade on the site, but I do appreciate finding a few. Brick by brick!
The first was from member alh. I exchanged a few NL stars like Blackmon, Freeman, Bryant, and Baez from random assorted sets, and got a Tino 2003 Topps HTA stamped card. I also snagged a Gio Urshela RC in the deal!
The second Tino came in from a member named obxyankeefan. This was the only card in the deal, a 2005 Fleer Tino. I sent along three cards from the 2019 Topps Update set. Great 3 for 1 deal for me.
The next, from shaggy69 (hehe), was one I thought I had, but alas, it was not! This 2005 Upper Deck became mine for two cards from the 2016 Topps Wrigley set.
Some of the easier Tinos to find are from '08 Upper Deck Yankee Stadium Legacy. Tigerhead sent me this for a 2019 Heritage Shane Greene insert.
A two-Tino deal came from Torcato for five 2019 Update inserts/parallels. A Yankee Stadium Legacy, and a card from Tino's lost Cardinal years.
And last but not least! nwcardsupplies hit me with three new Tinos! These came for a 2017 Heritage SP Chris Sale, and a Sixto Sanchez Bowman card.
All such easy, efficient trades. And a great way to continuo my climb to 1,000 Tinos (currently at 930!).

TCBD trades are flying in
I'm up to eight completed Trading Card Database trades, with two more in-transit. Pretty cool. I'm having a bit of a hard time using the "matching" tool to find people to trade with. It's a bit cumbersome and clunky. But others seem to be using it just fine, so I assume it's something one learns in time.
The first was a great deal because I got rid of 8 cards, and only one came in. I like being net -7 and not accumulating a bunch of cards. I sent user hilochef seven cards from various 2019 sets, and got one lovely RC in return:
Love it! Gleyber RCs are a nice thing to have these days, and the Chrome Update version is a nice one.
My next trade was with Detfan6897, obviously a Detroit Tigers fan. I sent him three Tigers from three different 2019 sets, including a Jordan Zimmer 2019 Topps Fire. In return, I got a Tino I needed, as well as another Gleyber RC (a rookie debut card from 2018 Update), and a cool Future Stars try-card of Torres, Frazier, and Andujar. Nice little three for three swap!
A slightly larger trade was made with user stoob, in which I gave away seven cards from 2019 Topps Update, and got seven back in return. The highlights for me are the really fun Jeter-esque Gio Urshela, as well as a plethora of RCs in the name of Mike Tauchman (although not supposed to be a RC I don't think), Mike Ford, and Thairo Estrada. There was also a beautiful Giancarlo Stanton 1984 Refractor. Those look so sweet.
And speaking of Gio, I received a sweet Topps Gold of that same card from natemedmonds. I sent him four cards, and got this beauty in return. Yankee card of the year?
I still need to do better about getting Tino Martinez cards I need and not accumulating current Yankees, but it sure is fun to sent unwanted cards to set builders for cards I'd rather have.
