Yankees legends autos from Jaybarkerfan

Wes from Jaybarkerfan’s Junk is of my favorite bloggers out there. For no reason at all, Wes sends me large stacks of Yanks. And they are always sweet cards that I really appreciate.

Recently, Wes sent me a message saying that he had a few Tinos for me, and some other stuff. Cool! I’ll always take Tino’s.

Well, Wes really undersold what he was sending. First, I’ll get to the Tino’s. Both of these are sweet and I didn’t have either one. The pacific is numbered to 63…I can’t think of a lower-numbered Tino that I have. Maybe I have one #’s to 50 somewhere.

And now…the completely unexpected. Three signed index cards of Yankees legends Joe Dugan, Joe Sewell, and Hoyt Waite! Holy crap! Honestly, two hall of famers here, but overall three very well know players from the 1920s and 1930s. Sewell was one of the best infielder ever. While he made his mark in Cleveland, he came to NY in early ‘30s and was a member of the 1932 WS champs. For his career, he hit .312 and with a .391 OBP and was elected into the HOF in 1977. Dugan played for the Yanks from 1922-1928 and was a member of three World Series championship teams. Hoyt, a member of the 1969 HOF class, anchored the Yankees pitching staffs in the ‘20s and won three World Series with them.

These look like they were all obtained TTM from each player, and long, long ago. Wes got them into his position by trading someone on the Blowout forums. I haven’t decided how to display these yet, but these are incredible pieces of memorabilia and I’m thrilled to have them.

It’s particular cool because I am currently reading “Luckiest Man” – Lou Gehrig’s biography. Each of these three players are mentioned frequently.

Wes, I can’t thank you enough for these great autos!
