Former Yankees pitcher Charles Hudson returned my three cards in 26 days time. Hudson had quite a few cards as a Yankee during the Junk Wax Era.
Traded to the Yanks from the Phils for Mike Easler, Hudson pitched in the Bronx in 1987 and 1988. I can't say I have recollection of him pitching for NY, but he had a decent year in '87, going 11-7 with a 3.61 ERA.
I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.
That was probably an impressive record for the Yankees at that time, I would think.
ReplyDeleteI think I have more memories of pulling Charles Hudson baseball cards than I do of watching him pitch. I give him credit for a decent autograph, though.
