This post is coming to you live from sunny Los Angeles. I'm out here on business, so figured I'd take a moment to show a card I picked up a few weeks ago, but didn't have the chance to blog about yet. No better of a guy to show while in LA.
Before stepping away from eBay for 40 days and 40 nights, I won this beauty. I may not put it in my son's HOF binder just yet. It might be more of a special gift to him at some point. However, I picked up a really nice 1966 Topps for far cheaper than it should have been. The listing wasn't very good and and I stumbled upon it by chance.
1966 isn't my favorite Topps set, but I don't hate it either. With a guy like this on the front, who cares what the card looks like?
I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.
Nice. A lot better centered than mine, too.
