Worst post title of the year so far? Worst post title of the year so far.
Now that I got your attention the cheap way, you might as well keep reading and check out some cards from my buddy Weston at Fantastic Catch. I really enjoy trading with Weston, as he seems like a Bowman guy and always has Yanks prospects for me.
See? Like these sweet Bowman Ice goodies, which might be the nicest parallels out there.
Weston sent me two sweet autos. Phil Wetherell is from 2014 Topps Heritage Minors, a set in which I own zero cards, which is awful for a guy who likes to collect prospects. Phil pitched well in 2014 and made it to AA. It's not unreasonable to think he may make his debut in the Yanks' bullpen in 2015.
The other auto was of Ivan Nova (edit: As Zippy Zappy pointed out, this is Hector Noesi. Nice attention to detail by me)! He could be a big boost to the rotation when he returns from TJ surgery in May or June.
Here is a sweet Gary Sanchez Top Prospects card from this year's Bowman Platinum. hard to tell, but it's diecut.
Donruss Estrellas had some cool cards! They aren't very appreciated, but I've gotten many random cards from these sets that I like a lot.
Lastly, two Tinos! I really need to figure out if I'm going to include Yankee Stadium Legacy as different cards in my Tino PC. On one hand, many of them look the same, but on the other, they have different numbers. That could mean they are different cards, right? I'm just a bit torn.
Weston, thanks for the good stuff!
I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.

A Fantastic PWE
Weston from the fantastic blog Fantastic Catch sent me an unexpected PWE a few weeks back. The highlight for me was two brand new Tinos that were new to my collection! I am missing a ton of cards from Tino's Cardinal years, and I needed these both.
The Topps 206 mini is pose C (of three possible poses), and the back is black Piedmont. The Donruss Studio is cool. I thought I had it, but I actually had the artist proof and not the base card, so I was pumped that I needed it.
Weston knows I love Yankee prospects, so here's a few are a few more, including a cool Pro Debut insert of the ice cream-sandwich-throwing Jesus Montero. Cripes. Thanks, Weston!

Simply Fantastic
Weston over at Fantastic Catch is a very thoughtful guy. He always adds a little something to trade packages that is unexpected. Last time, he sent a broken down blaster box with Michael Pineda on it. This time, he sent a USA Weekend cover with Masahiro Tanaka. Very cool!
He also likes to send me Yankee prospects cards. In fact, he sent me this Leonardo Molina card, which I then sent to Molina for an auto. It now looks like this.
Here are a few other goodies.
Weston, I owe you a return package. I haven't forgotten!

Cool surprise from Weston
A few weeks ago, Weston of Fantastic Catch and I struck up a trade. I sent a bunch of Cardinals his way, and received a bunch of Yanks in return. Most were Bowman cards, including a Ty Hensley I needed.
However, the coolest thing he sent was this broken down Bowman blaster box featuring Michael Pineda. At first I thought it was cardboard to keep the cards safe, but Weston clearly was very thoughtful to include this. It's really cool!
Thanks, Weston!

Fantastic cards from Fantastic Catch
I recently (and by recently I mean over the summer) completed a trade with Weston over at Fantastic Catch. He reached out about doing a sketch/paint card of Lance Lynn for his PC. I did one for him, and in return, he sent me a great batch of Yankees.
Weston clearly knows who I collect, as the package was Pineda and prospect heavy
I LOVE the Pro Debut Pineda. Such a sweet card. I swear, he's going to contribute this year.
And a few more cards of some guys I collect. Weston, than you, sir!
