It's becoming a major thing. Collectors around the country are being Hoyled on a regular basis.
I've been the victim several times, and each time is always a great experience. Here's the latest group of treasures that came my way in a PWE:
The card gods are telling me to put together the 1973 Topps set. I have a lot of singles, although I suppose I should start with the Yankees team set. I have the Munson already, which is the toughest card in the Yankees checklist. I have a few others, although I definitely did not have these two that Mark sent me:
Oh man. Two things. Awful airbrush job on the Nettles. Truly bad, but still a sweet card. And the Murcer, man I love Bobby. I wish I got to see him play.
Next up, a cool Wally Pipp Conlon Collection. I was really surprised to see that the card made no mention to being "Pipped" - Wally's role in Lou Gehrig's career.I also didn't know he was a HR champ.
And lastly, a cool Wade Boggs from a very underrated Studio set.
As always, thanks Mark!

I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.

Graig Nettles - 1982 Fleer Stamp
I won this on eBay for $.10 shipped. It’s a 1982 Fleer Stamp of Graig Nettles. I won’t lie, not the biggest Nettles fan in the world because he was a jerk when I met him, but hard to pass up this item for a dime. I mean, a retired baseball player, being a jerk to me?1 Doesn't he know who I am? Doesn't he realize that I have a BLOG? A blog that at least two people read? The nerve.
Anyways, anyone know anything else about this set?

Topps Diamond Giveaway Haul
On Christmas Eve, I received my Topps Diamond Giveaway haul. Overall, I shipped seven cards. First and foremost, here is the main attraction: a 2011 Diamond Die Cut of Mark Teixeira. I also have a Sabathia, so this brings my total to a whopping two.
I also grabbed two cards from the early ‘80s. I have this Nettles card, but it’s autographed, so I replaced that copy with this one. As for the Murcer, I actually think it’s my first card of him. I did have a 1978 Cubs one on the site, but I traded for this since he was in a Yanks uniform.
Lastly, here is my Roy White portion. Not sure why, but once I got two Whites I tried to get a few more. I was really happy to land the 1969 one. The worst conditioned one is probably the 1976, which is a little disappointing because it seems like those wouldn’t have been too hard to track down.

Trade Review: MadGlavSmoltz
I've been meaning to post about this trade. I reached out to Chris at Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz about a 2011 Topps card he needed. Turns out he had the card, but we still worked out a trade. I sent him a handful of cards off his Braves want lists of Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz (appropriately), as well as a few Chipper Jones inserts I had.
Chris sent me a truly awesome package of cards. It was a blast to open! Chris did a fun packaging job too...cards just kept falling out. I'd take two out of a top loader, and a mini would fall out from between the top two cards. It was great.
My favorite cards from the trade were probably the Cano 2010 Topps Chrome Refractor, an ARod SPX die-cut, Oscar Gamble 1980 Topps (because who doesn't love an Oscar Gamble card?), and a 1981 Donruss Yogi Berra Coach card. There were still plenty of other sweet cards, including some more Topps Moments and Milestones - Jeter and ARod. The Jetes was numbered to 29, by far my lowest #'d card of him. To cap off the trade, there were two 1980 Topps 5x7s - Reggie Jackson and Graig Nettles.
Here are a few of the cards:
Great stuff, thanks Chris!
