I had this post up yesterday, but blogger went crazy and someohow it got lost. Anyhow, in the late 1990's, I sent a TTM request to Frank Crosetti, who played 17 seasons with the Yanks during the '30s and '40s. He then coached them for another 20. All in all, "The Crow" was a part of 17 World Series Championship teams - eight as a player and nine more as a coach. That's a lot of rings. Topps, eat your heart out.
Mr. Crosetti was nice enough to sign this photo for me (he provided), and it's one of my favorite pieces of Yankee memorabilia that I own. After all, he did play with the Babe, Gehrig, DiMaggio and Berra. Not too shabby.
I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.
Wow, that is a great piece!
