50! My childhood hero turns the big 5-0.
I know that may not seem old to some. I'm sure some reading this are older than that. It's just a bit odd to think that the player I rooted for most growing up is now 50 years old, his playing days now 12 years behind us. Pretty incredible.
I guess that means I'm getting older too!
Wishing Tino a very happy 50th, and to celebrate, here are 50 random Tino cards!
I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.
Hey hey hey....I recognize one of those!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Tino! Some great cards in there.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a ton of Tino cards!
ReplyDeleteI heard it was his birthday on my way home listening to the local sports radio... they have a birthday segment... Johnny Bench, Kyle Hendricks and Larry Bird also have Tino's birthday. Thought of you when I heard Tino's name!
Awesome collection, considering how i'm older than my main PC guy, I can only imagine how I'll be when he turns 50.
ReplyDeleteTino was the man even for me in Michigan growing up. I learned to switch hit in middle school so I could be like him. That Goin' Jake card is my favorite Tino I have. I am so jealous you have one signed!
ReplyDeleteI love your Tino collection. You should be getting some more tomorrow (if the post office is accurate in their delivery ETAs) to say thanks for the heads up about that sick Cutch on Twitter.
