There are going to be some bumps, but he has shown quite a bit of potential as a future regular member of the Yankees rotation. Many pitchers would have let the game get out of hand after the first, but German settled down, moved past the inning, and ended up throwing five scoreless frames after that. Not easy to do, but he showed some serious mental strength.
I hope to see some more cards of him in the near future. For now, my collection consists of just four cards:

ReplyDeleteNice to see him do well-ish. That said if the Yankees undergo a trade involving a frontline starter I see him being on the pieces that gets sent back (the other team is gonna want someone to eat big league innings).
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice when guys have decent debuts. Tyler Glasnow was shelled non stop his first handful of starts last year and never really recovered. Thankfully the PIrates have been using him in lower leverage situations out of the bullpen all year and he has been really good.
