The TTM successes have been few and far between these days, so I was excited to see a SASE show up in my mailbox yesterday. It was postmarked from Charleston, SC, which I knew meant a Yankees prospect from the Riverdogs. After only nine days, 2010 fifth round draft pick and promising reliever Tommy Kahnle signed my 2011 Topps Pro Debut - my first success on a card from this set!
Kahnle is having a decent season after being lights out in Rookie ball last year. His 4 ERA is a little high, but he does have 57Ks in 45 innings. Hopefully he is promoted to Tampa this season and sees time in Double A next year. He's a bullpen arm to watch for sure.
I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.
