I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.

TTM Success: D'Angelo Jimenez
Anyone remember D'Angelo Jimenez? He was a decent Yankees prospect in the late 1990s. He made a quick cameo in 1999 for the Yankees and hit .400. He ended up being traded to Pads for relieve Jay Witasick, who predictably sucked after being really good for the Pads. Jimenez bounced around for a buit with a few teams, his best years probably coming in Cincy. He never played in the majors after 2007.
As it turns out, he's still playing independent ball! A few times per season, I check out a lot of team rosters in the various independent leagues, as you can never quite tell who you'll stumble across. Turns out, Jimenez is playing for the Camden Riversharks. He signed the card for me in about two weeks time.
