On Friday, I received two TTM successes. They both came from someone with the last name of Clark.
Yesterday, I showed off Jack Clark, the slugger from the '80s. Today, it's time for former power-hitting 1B Tony Clark.
Clark is best known for his time with the Tigers, and bounced around a bit with the Yanks, Red Sox, Mets, and Diamondbacks. By all accounts, he was a great dude and class act. He currently serves as MLBPA Executive Director, which is where I sent the request.
It was also pointed out to me on Twitter by @TheSnortingBull that Clark's signature has changed a lot over the years. Here's an early one:
Yep, definitely a lot different, although it is consistent with his more recent autographs, including Topps Archives certified autograph last year.
Thanks, Mr. Clark!
I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.

Man, what a before/after effect on that signature.
ReplyDeleteI really need to stop dragging my feet and send to him. He was the only player to root for on the Tigers for a long time. He was a giant.
