I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.

TTM Success: Mark Montegomery
This one is a head scratcher for me. I keep a pretty detailed record of when I sent out my TTMs. I was pretty sure I sent Yankees pitching prospect Mark Montgomery a TTM request this spring, but I had no recollection of it in my Excel document. I did send to him LAST spring training with no success, so is it possible this is from last year and I didn't send this year? I honestly don't know.
Regardless, I'm happy to have this back. Mark has a bright future as a late inning reliever. Many expected him to be in The Show last year, but he battled an injury and didn't put up the same numbers as he had the last few years. Regardless, he's in AAA again this year, and I fully expect him to be pitching in the Bronx at some point.
A couple of cool things about the return envelope. He mailed it from Virginia, which is where he resides in the off-season. So it looks like he sent between the end of spring training and his team's opening series in Syracuse. Also, he took the time to write "Do Not Bend" on the envelope. I've only seen one or two other players do this. Very cool!
