Numbers - what do they mean to you?

This Jeff Gordon ESPN commercial got me thinking about all of the things I do with my sports heroes' numbers. I remember phone numbers by associating them with Yankees...like if the last four digits are 1836, I'll say to myself "Scott Brosius David Cone." I even use some Yankee numbers in my ATM pin code.

What about you guys? Do any of you use sports numbers in everyday life?

  1. Sure, one of my passwords for a work system is 755660, Hank Aaron and Willie Mays' homerun totals. I feel ya!

  2. Interesting. I never considered using sports numbers for things, but now I might!

  3. We're receiving an entire new computer system at work and we were encouraged to use passwords connected with sports. So I did. But I'm not telling you what it is. Because it's a PASSWORD.

I don't use baseball uniform numbers mainly because I never remember them. I know Tulo is #2, but that's about it. I remember Walter Payton was #34. Fred McGriff is my favorite player of all time and I don't know his number off the top of my head.

I do remember 493 home runs and the 1994 AS Game and many many other things, but uniform numbers never really stood out to me as much as other people.
