Happy Mother's Day to all of your mothers and wives who are moms out there.
Moms are critical to the hobby. They often bought us our first packs of cards at the grocery or drug stores. They put up with piles of cards on dining room tables or stacked on the stairs.
My mom used to have to run out for a minute to CVS and would ask if I'd keep an eye on my sisters. I'd say "for a pack of cards?" It was her form of payment.
Now, my wife is the one that has to deal with bubble mailers every day and stacks of cards on the table or my dresser. It never ends.
Hope everyone has a great day with the special moms in their lives.
I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.
I second that
